Soms moet je wat aanpassen, maar hoe en wanneer? De komende tijd deel ik een paar van mijn ideetjes over passende liedjes of hoe ze passend te maken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Muziekkeuze<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Je zingt gezellig mee met dat leuke liedje op Spotify (de tekst staat er tegenwoordig ook bij, handig!). Misschien denk je: \u201cDat is wel een leuk liedje voor zangles! En soms past zelfs de hele muzieksoort niet bij je stem \ud83d\ude33. Dat is mij ook wel overkomen: mijn stem leent zich bijvoorbeeld niet voor het steviger werk, zoals rock. Als ik in dat genre zing, dan klinkt dat totaal niet overtuigend, veel te aardig. Dat betekent niet, dat ik nooit meer rock zing, maar ik zing dan voornamelijk in de auto en niet voor een publiek.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Neem jezelf af en toe op als je een lied zingt. Gewoon om zelf terug te luisteren hoe iets klinkt en om dingen uit te proberen. Opnemen hoeft helemaal niet ingewikkeld te zijn, je kunt daarvoor de opname functie van je telefoon gebruiken (dictafoon app). Je hoeft jouw opnamen ook met niemand te delen als je daar geen zin in hebt. De opname is in principe voor jezelf.  Wees niet te streng voor jezelf,  luister of iets potentieel heeft, niet of iets perfect klinkt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Als zingen in een muzieksoort steeds maar niet zo\u2019n succes blijkt, dan word je er alleen maar onzeker van. Dat wil niet zeggen dat je niet goed kunt zingen, zeker niet!&nbsp; Zing in een genre waarin jouw stem goed tot zijn recht komt en die bij jou als persoon past. Soms is dat zelfs iets waarvan je niet verwacht had, dat het bij jou zou passen. Ik had in het begin niet verwacht dat ik nu voornamelijk jazz en Braziliaanse liedjes zou zingen, maar het voelt tegenwoordig als een soort muzikaal \u201cthuis\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stel je open op, probeer eens iets uit waarvan je misschien nog niet weet of het bij je past. Wie weet ontdek je weer iets heel nieuws over jezelf! En.. zing af en toe muziek die niet zo goed bij je stem past, zelfs als je denkt dat het niet geweldig klinkt, het is een goede uitdaging. Laat je niet ontmoedigen en zing!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not every song is suitable for every singer. Sometimes you need to make some changes, but how? I would like to share some ideas with you on which songs might work or how to make songs work for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Choice of music<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You are singing along to that cool song on Spotify (the lyrics below nowadays, super handy!). Maybe you are thinking: \u201cThat would be a good song for my singing lesson! Let\u2019s do that one in the next lesson, some of the parts are quite difficult.\u201d During the lesson you find that it is not that easy, singing that particular song. So now what?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes we choose songs that are not quite suitable for the voice and sometimes even the type of music does not fit your voice at all \ud83d\ude33.&nbsp; That happened to me as well: my voice is simply not suitable for music with rougher edges, like rock music. When I sing songs in that genre, I sound way too mellow and totally unconvincing. That does not mean I never sing rock songs anymore, I just sing them in the car and not before an audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Record your singing occasionally. You just record to listen back to yourself and try things out. Recording does not need to be difficult, just use your mobile phone for that (voice memo app). You also do not need to share your recordings with anyone if you do not want to. The recording is meant for your own use. Don&#8217;t be too hard on yourself, just listen if somethings you do have potential and not if it sounds perfect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If singing in a certain genre will continue to be unsuccessful, it will only make you insecure. It does not mean that you are a bad singer, absolutely not! Sing in a genre that suits your voice and personality. It might even be a genre that you did not expect to be suitable for you at first. I would not have expected to be focussing on jazz and Brazilian music when I started out singing.
